Were finally playing our copy of Red Alert 3 beta, So we will see you online. So far our impressions of the game are good. The beta itself seems stable. We can of course only play VS battles online, but the game doesn’t seem to have too many bugs present. More balancing issues, there is still a bit of work to be done. Stand by for our preview of the Beta coming up soon.

APOC from the Official CNC Forums has posted a Red Alert 3 Q&A thread . Apoc will keep updating this thread as questions are answered. This will defiantly be a page to bookmark.

What was behind the decision to slow gameplay?

With Red Alert 3 we’re designing the gameplay to be a lot more deliberate and measured. We’ re shooting for average matches of 20-30 minutes and want to make sure that a lot of the unit spamming tactics, particularly the early game rushes of C&C3, are less viable. Games between experienced RA3 players will tend to go to the player who makes good use of force composition and unit micro, not the guy who can build the biggest scrum of tanks. The trick with this, and so far I think we’re doing a pretty good job of it, is to accomplish these goals without slowing the game down too much. Don’t worry – you’ ll find that Red Alert 3 games are plenty fast, and they’re certainly fun.

Red Alert 3 Beta Sign up problems

We have had reports that alot of users are having sign up issues. Some have report different that it doesn’t work using IE and works with Firefox. Either way keep trying it seems EA’s are having troubles and registering the Beta key doesn’t work sometimes. If your still having issues, let us know by posting a comment.

Our Red Alert 3 Beta Key.

Today we received our copy of Command and Conquer Kane’s Wrath, with the included Red Alert 3 Beta Key. Its basicly a slip which on the reverse side includes a printed Red Alert 3 Beta key. So we here at RA3 Source are signed up and read to go for beta testing Red Alert 3. But we still have to wait till the end of the year! Till then lets enjoy Kane’s Wrath.

New Red Alert 3 screenshots. 3 new shots in hi-res, These show how sea stucture placement works. One photo you can clearly see a Allied MCV as well as a good look at a Soviet air unit (Mig 21 retro styled) and the an Allied fighter aircraft unit, plus what looks to be an allied aircraft for drop offs.

Soviet Unit Section

Work has begun on the Soviet unit section, so far I have added a good 7 units to the list. I will add more shortly. This can be found in the Red Alert 3 Soviet Units section.
